Or is it? Lately it seems as each year rolls into another those phrases your parents say as you are a child growing up start to stick a little more in your noggin.
“Older & Wiser”
“Lead by example”
“There was once a time”
“Do as I say, not as I do”
“When I was growing up”
“When you get to be my age”
There are many that have been floating around but it seems besides each year tacking another on, when you get to the point that you are reaching into a new decade, it slams down harder than just the yearly passes. Its almost like when you get a raise at work then realize when you are sitting down doing your taxes for that year “Oh man, I am in a new bracket now”……and then it slowly sets in.
You are finally starting to grow up, congrats! You have your home, your car (or cars), your pets, your kids, and all the little things that come along both good and bad. The toys, the chores, the bills and the ups as well as the downs. Its not all bad, but when you reach that new bracket (where I am now) you start to think more about the not so silly things but the important ones. Those that really matter and not the ones that are frivolous.
Your parents along with those older friends & family are proud even if you do not get to visit as much as you would like seeing how busy your life is. Isn’t’ part of being a grown up being busy? A busy little bee? Nothing wrong with that of course, other than needing to be discipline with what you do, when you do it and how you do it … in order to keep the good times merrily rolling along.
