Sometimes I just do not get people and their lack of common sense when it comes to the R word. Respect, its not really that hard and there was even a song made about it. I have come to realize that some people are just idiots, and not in the type where they could be uneducated but more like unwilling to get off their high horse.
Recently with my work my lack of respect was drawn in the virtual line of sand since I tend to work with most people via email, or some other type of web based route. I was actually doing my job and instead of someone sucking it up and realizing that I did in fact have real intentions for doing what I did and saying what I say, I got that virtual slap back in the face.
That leads me to people not thinking. I remember growing up as a child and always being told to think before I speak or act, as later it can avoid you making an ass of yourself. Many times over this has come in handy, during good and bad times, the times when I could have blown something out of proportion or just times when you really need to keep your mouth shut to see what happens next. Oddly now even with people older than me, I sometimes never see this. I could count more asinine people that walk through the virtual doors of my work place than sometimes the most profound types that we love.
I wonder what the statistics worldwide are just of people being fired for “acting a fool“? While each year gives me a little more patience and a great deal more vision to spot these people quicker, sometimes I really wonder what is going trough their minds. I would hope they do not treat their children, family or friends like they do people “behind the computer” but who knows?
