Even something as small as a mini vacation can be truly draining on the mind, body and soul. We took a quick trip down to Atlanta, its only a few hours away with decent traffic so we figured why not? A quick get away when you are as busy as we tend to stay is something that we need to bargain with. Planning ahead to try and avoid any last minute work emergencies is always a plus, even during normal holidays we still get them.

This trip while of course amazingly awesome was also quite tiresome. I am almost positive that we walked more that day than any other in the past six months, even adding in the extra exercise we have both been doing to get back into a healthier lifestyle. Our legs & feet both ached. Overall our bodies were sore once the day was finished and everyone was tuckered out to relax in the hotel for the night after a nice dinner. We saw sea turtles, whales, and many types of fish. We even met an Otter Friend.

The quick get away was nice but still tiring and I am sure larger trips in the future will be just as exciting and chaotic as this was. Only to top our quick vacation we decided on the way back that we should setup a shopping spree in order to get our back yard (with recently new deck) setup for the summertime. The weather was getting warmer so why not? After about four trips to random stores along the way home, we stopped off, dropped our stuff off and headed back out the same day we returned home.

As the years go on I realize how different and the same we are and while the differences might be slight, they are there. This is part of what makes for an awesome and sometimes crazed relationship though I would never have it any other way. We hit up about four stores and caught the bits and pieces that we liked and did not like, we also doubled back a tad too. Finally deciding on what we wanted we loaded the truck up with everything and off we went, to come back home, after a rushed and insane mini vacation to setup both a fairly large gazebo and a full set of dinning patio furniture.

By the time 8PM rolled around I had figured out that we are obviously insane but maybe that mini vacation gave us a little spunk, sadly it was not enough as by the sun went down we were past the tuckered out stage into the zombie like-we are insane-lets stop for the night, stage. We finished up the furniture the next day over and then continued to sit down and enjoy our hard work. Honestly even with a small trip to ATL like we had, I do not think its actually in our blood to have a normal vacation and “chill”.

We have been reaping the rewards with as many chances as we can squeeze in though sadly during work days it’s harder to break out the BBQ and the weather has been somewhat funky. Today I plagued with tree pollen as my Arch-nemesis but I will still find sometime to head outside and enjoy the place of awesome. If I can figure out when the weather will break clear this week I might even move my office out there. Who knows, I might get more accomplished outside in the yard rather than being cooped up in a stuffy office. Pollen or not, this chick has Claritin.
