The Patriot Act took our liberties
And there’s no judge and no jury
Tapping our phones, breaking down our doors
waging on the people a civil war!
I adore Amy Allen in general (love most of her work) including the Revolution song but this song besides supporting Ron Paul has the truth listed in clear & easy terminology. The thing I now worry about is exactly that, a civil war with the protesting people. It seems with all the protesting going on that people are being torn between sides. Is a war within our country (again) going to end up being what the outcome unfolds?
Thinking about the protests which are now world-wide it still irks me that so many people seem to have a great idea to let their voices be heard about real issues that do affect us all, yet going about it the wrong way. I am in no way justifying cops beatings on civilians mind you, but I do see an issue when new reports flood the media outlets and then all you see for a full day straight is “Cop beats Lady at bank”. I wonder how many of these reports actually show the protesting people who are closing out bank accounts, do so within a timely manner, then fail to leave the premises once their transaction is complete & decide to irk the cops right back?
At that point my buddy is right, they are trespassing. Sorry protesting people, you know its true. Still it is no reason to get a cop beating but then again I am guessing some ethically challenged minds out there have no issues provoking a cop either. All we need is this protest to turn into a Rodney King issue. It is very simple, either leave when your task is complete or get arrested. I see no reason for excessive force by any police officer unless there is a serious riot going on. I am talking flaming cars, people throwing things out of windows at others to intend harm or a person walking up into a cop’s face and smacking them with a rock. That shit goes down, I expect cops to take force to get that shit under control ASAP to continue protecting myself & my family.
Yes there are some people that are in a bad situation that should not be but the majority of the protester posts that I see on tumbler are people are made poor decisions and are lazy. – Anonymous Friend
The truth rings through for so many by the few things said which you know could not be more truthful even if a million years has passed. Anonymous Friend here rings some truth into that quote as well, it shouldn’t be my issue when someone decides they would rather live the lazy life than get up and take a job that they could do. I wonder how many protesting people are leaching from my tax dollars now? It might not pay exactly what they want, and it may not be in the same industry they want, but if you are starving and need food on the table – you do what you got to do, it’s really that simple. I still think people need to bitch less and work more, but all the complaining about no jobs, really? Hell, get on a lawn mower and cut my yard. It’s not something I want to do but I will pay you for it.
What about the marine who voiced his opinions? I love that he has the gumption to say what he feels. Coming from a family that has been in every branch around, I love it. While he did get a little hostile there, nothing really called for that cop reaching toward the holster; then again that cop was pretty small compared to the marine. I am guessing fear & intimidation kicked in. The only sad part about this is in the back of my mind I keep thinking about the protesting people without ethics, those who are pushing the cops just to see what happens. When that breaks loose, that will be the day that starts the tyranny that I mentioned the other day, the one which will fall out from someones fuck up that we all end up paying for. Now before we close our eyes tonight and thank our lucky stars that we are not on the front lines of this madness, remember; blessed are the protesting people!
