I have written for the Daily Vape before briefly noting my experiences and by the time February rolls around on the 12th I will be able to say I am smoke free for two full years. In the last 20 years I have been smoke free for two of them, not counting both times I was with child. How awesome is that? As my niece who say “It is F’n awesome” and I tend to agree. So what is the deal with electronic cigarettes?
After reviewing many e-cigarette products, testing them out, see what fails and what does not – nothing burns me more than seeing the crappy ass wanna-be units out on the market confusing people about electronic cigarettes. If people want to quit and attempt to use one of these units more than likely they are going to give up before anything good comes from it. Why? Because nothing will. I see commercials all the time that talk about getting a kit for twenty bucks, really? We live in 2011 now, how many things are 20 bucks? The only thing that beats that commercial is the one saying you can get TWO for the price of ONE, again at about twenty bucks.
When I started smoking I have no idea what the prices were, why? Well that is somewhat another story but lets just dabble and say I did not pay for them (and no I did not steal them). By the time I moved out to another state in my early 20’s they were almost 5USD a pack – WHAT? I have no idea what the price is now, back two years ago before I quit I started using coupons for them, damn right I used coupons that shit was getting expensive.
Back to the point, these horrible “electronic cigarettes” kits are popping up all over. On TV, at the mall – mostly run by people who never smoked, do not use a personal vaporizer and really can not educate you on what you are doing in the first place. When you start any new project or hobby you want to make sure you have all the pieces, make sure they all work like they should & make sure you have an idea of what you are doing.
I would hate to think what became of the first stunt person that tested out explosives before he knew what he was doing (RTFM comes to mind). Ecigs are the same, not all are exactly alike and not all which are listed to the public are actually the top shelf product that will work for you. No before anyone freaks out assuming my disclaimer does not say “Ecigs are not like explosives”, they are not so let me be clear on that note.
Any person who has used a PV before and plans to commit & avoid tobacco for the rest of their life can tell you that these wanna-be’s are not the way to go. Yes a real electronic cigarette kit will cost you a bit at the start while you are gathering what you need. Think of what you pay each week when you have to buy a carton, especially if you are buying for two smokers in the house as I know I have done in the past. Think of what you have spent in your lifetime so far!
I have all of my pieces now and I still test out some new products but not my main pieces. I have my batteries (one on charger, one in use at all times), I have my carts (hold my e-juice) and I have my juice. I do not need anything more, the only thing I replace are cart’s when they go bad and my juice when I run out. No I do not get rage when I run out of juice (kick on ‘roid users out there – stop it, it makes you testy) but I would never recommend anyone to run out if possible. I have come close before and it was a very stressing time.
Still get the nicotine so I do not turn into the incredible super bitch, but I am not getting that nasty stuff that you ingest when you smoke tobacco. Now I actually hate the smell of tobacco and still wonder how I went so long before quitting.
Good post. I saw one at a mall when I was in the US and the price was quite high, but it didn’t look too good. I ended up ordering one online while I was there, and bringing it back with me.
The problem with that is one battery died fairly quickly so I am half on and half of it. Still debating ordering another from that company as I have all the other bits from them.
Congratz on the 2 years by the way.
I have killed a few batteries but looking back now, they were all cheap ones. You get what you pay for. Right now I use two Joye eGo-T’s and they work awesome when I remember to charge them. Let me know if you need me to dig up some info on where we order from (you might be able to get similar). 🙂
